Our first Chopper Bag was made for ‘Banjo’ McAuliffe, a helicopter pilot and aerial musterer based in the Kimberley region in the North West of Western Australia.

He was having trouble finding a bag that was tough enough to handle the harsh treatment he was handing out: being tied to the skids of his helicopter or being thrown into the back of the Toyota, and yet keep his clobber flash enough to catch the eye of the local girls at the annual B&S.

We couldn’t help him out with the fairer sex, but we were able to design and manufacture a bag that would stand up to the rigours of the Kimberley.

These bags are made from 12 oz waterproof canvas with chrome leather base and handles. They are fully lined with a 9 oz waterproof canvas and have a large top opening area and strap closure to protect the zip.

We can now track the travels of ‘Banjo’ across the Top End of Australia by the orders we are constantly receiving from stations from Katherine to Karratha after the local ringers have seen his ‘Chopper Bag’.

More recently, these bags have become popular with the 4WD fraternity where tough yet flash luggage is essential. Some have found their way to the snowfields of Europe and on safari in Africa.

So if you are a serious traveller, or would like to be, then get hold of one of these bags. The Chopper Bags come in two sizes; the original large Chopper and a smaller cabin luggage size. They both feature heavy duty zips with double zip runners that can be locked for security.

The canvas comes in Brown, Beige, Red, Light Blue, Steel, Navy, Light Green and Dark Green. The leather trims on the base, handles and top straps are a brown coloured leather in a full grain finish.

With the large top opening and the beige coloured, waterproof lining, it is easy to find items in these rugged and versatile bags.
