The DOMINANT story began in 1986 designing belts and hand sewn box bags for the boutiques of London.

Today, we craft leathergoods for a much broader market: trades people, equestrians, promotional products and custom work. Our aims have always remained the same: We want you to treasure our products during their years of service, and to produce the best product possible by questioning why things work, or don't work.

We also value age old techniques and use modern technology for the benefit of our clients. The leathers and fittings we use have been chosen for durability as well as their beauty.

Jerry and I started making chopper bags in a small shop tucked away in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Most of them went bush, working on stations or on safaris and our customers would return to give glowing reports of their toughness and style. It became part of their travel and lifestyle essentials.

That was over ten years ago; now we make them in Pittsworth, a thriving country town just west of Toowoomba in Queensland. You wont see these bags everywhere, and you never will. We use Australian canvas and locally supplied leather. We make them ourselves - just check out my hands, they tell the story!

Why haven't we gone offshore? Well, I love the fact that we know the suppliers by name and I can drive there in a day to buy my leather and get inspired, and buy interesting hides, which you will find in my "one off" range, which are fully leather and just a bit special.

I do feel connected with this design, and the quality I can guarantee. So we choose to make them ourselves.
